Microsoft’s infamous Red Ring of Death has claimed countless Xbox 360 consoles, both myself and Grimmy can vouch for this with first hand experience. Now though, it seems the issue may be a thing of the past. Reliable internet sources state that a new motherboard –“Jasper”- and a new graphics chip will greatly decrease the chance of more recent models falling prey to the bane of many 360 consoles which has cost Microsoft over a billion dollars.

Another rumour that has been spread across forums throughout the cyber world is the introduction of a 360 Slim model to accompany these much needed internal updates. Microsoft has dismissed these rumours, claiming that with their already large variety of models, a new one wasn’t necessary. With the new motherboard and graphics chip however, perhaps decreasing the size of the 360 which, in comparison to the PS3 and Wii, is quite bulky and cumbersome.
